Stay A Sleep - Fitted Cot Bumper

One of the most common questions we are asked is 'will the bumper fit my cot'.  As a general rule, if your cot mattress is 130cm x 69cm the bumper should fit your cot.

Q. Can the bumper be washed?
A. Yes, the bumper can be placed in a gentle wash cycle in the washing machine or hand washed.

Q. Does the bumper need to be removed to wash the sheets?
A. No, the bumper does not need to be removed when washing the sheets. You just pull the sheets off the mattress and put them on as normal. Once you have the sheets back on you just need to adjust the bumper so that the padded section is still sitting on top of the mattress.  The bumpers fitted sheet section sits on the outside of all the other bedding so in a way it holds it all in together.

Q. Does the bumper interfere with the drop down side of the cot i.e. what happens with the bumper when you slide the side of the cot down to get the baby out?
A. No the bumper does not interfere with the drop down side of the cot.  The wraps that attach the bumper allow either drop down side of the cot to slide up and down them whilst staying in place. This sliding also acts as a safety feature because if the child stands on the bumper rather than getting leverage, the bumper slides down the bars of the cot and returns up when the child has stepped off.  As a safety standard, all bumper labelling advises that they should be removed when child can sit unaided.

Boori Cots

We have completed the development of a Stay-A-Sleep fitted cot bumper for the slat style cot in the Boori Cot range.  Boori cots are larger than a standard cot with mattress measurements of (131cm x 75cm) therefore they are too large for the standard bumper.  The bumper is available in Classic White only:

Velcro Extension Pieces

Depending on the make and model of your cot, some have extra large wood slats in the four corners that abut each other which means that the corner wraps might be too short.  We cannot make the corner wraps larger because they will be too long for the majority of cots. 

If you experience this problem or you are concerned that your cot might fit into this category, Stay-A-Sleep supplies Velcro extension pieces.  As the name suggests the extension pieces extend the corner wraps allowing them to meet and allows the bumper to fit in place correctly.
